Laser tattoo removal

Treatment description

Don’t live with your tattoo regrets…Visit Ultra Sculpt Beauty Clinic and get your tattoos permanently removed.

Laser tattoo removal is an affordable, effective solution for safely removing tattoos, which produces fantastic results.

How does laser tattoo removal work?

Tattoo removal is most commonly performed using lasers that break down the ink particles in the tattoo. The advanced technology works by allowing the light produced by the laser to pass through the skin to break up the tattoo ink into tiny particles.  The body is then able to dispose of these fragments via its immune system.

Number of treatments required to remove a tattoo

To remove a tattoo, it can take several treatment sessions to ensure success, with regular intervals between sessions (approx 6 weeks).

On average, six to ten treatments are usually needed. However, the number of treatments required is very much dependent on the size, colour and density of the tattoo.  Certain tattoo pigments, such as yellow and green inks are more challenging to treat than darker, traditional blacks and blues.

Does laser tattoo removal hurt?

During treatment, the lasers can cause slight discomfort with some clients describing the sensation as being similar to being snapped with an elastic band.  Some areas are also more sensitive than others, such as the ankles and shoulder blades. However, the pain tends to decrease as the treatment progresses and the tattoo ink fades.  Mostly the pain is tolerated very well, but a local anaesthetic cream can be applied if required.

After laser tattoo removal treatment

Redness and swelling can occur post treatment, which is similar to sunburn.  This will settle within a few days.  Some patients do blister, which is normal and does not indicate potential scarring.  This usually clears within a few days.  A sunblock with an SPF of 30+ should be applied to the treated area, if exposed to sunlight between sessions.  However, Ultra Sculpt advise clients to keep this area covered immediately after treatment.
